the conversation starters program
The Conversation Starters Program is a collaboration between the West Plains' arts and therapeutic communities to provide free therapeutic workshops with licensed mental health professionals at the Yellow House. Nine four-week workshops will be designed to promote social connection and relationship building in a gallery filled with art created to inspire conversation. The creation of art will be a component of each session to help with self-expression and relationship building.
Workshops will be comprised of up to ten individuals. You will therefore be meeting a variety of peers.
Workshops will meet weekly for two hours. Children's workshops will only meet for one hour. Everyone is welcome to sign up!
Ten individuals will participate in each workshop. Workshops will be divided by age:
To sign up for a four-week workshop, call the United Way at 417-257-7184 or fill out our sign-up form here. Dates have not yet been set. You'll be contacted with dates when an age-appropriate workshop becomes available between July 2024 and April 2025.
