Executive Director
 
Reports To: Heart of the Ozarks United Way Board of Directors
 
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and administration of the Heart of the Ozarks United Way. This includes overseeing grant programs, grant prospecting and writing grant proposals, maintaining relationships with donors and partner agencies, bookkeeping, managing day-to-day operations, and coordinating fundraising and marketing activities to advance the mission of the organization.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and generate annual Database 2 files using QuickBooks reports.
  • Create social media marketing campaigns using Canva. Manage social media to raise community awareness and engagement.
  • Prospect grants using Grant Station, create new grant programs, and manage grant funding on QuickBooks.
  • Write, submit, and track grant proposals and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  • Update organization’s website on Weebly.
  • Maintain files on Google Workspace.
  • Compose press releases, newsletters, and other communications to promote United Way activities.
  • Represent the organization at community events and make public presentations to donors, civic groups, and partner agencies.
  • Plan and coordinate annual fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, local agencies, and donors.
 
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience with Canva and Weebly or other website creation platforms.
  • Social media management and marketing skills.
  • Experience using Google Workspace.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Proven success in grant writing.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit administration or community-based organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.)
 
Work Schedule and Compensation
  • Part-time position, highly flexible schedule
  • Work-from-home with occasional in-person meetings and events
  • Compensation: $30/hour
